Crochet Mittens

It doesn't snow that much here in West Germany but it can get really windy and cold. Especially when I'm riding my bike! No worries now, my mittens are finally ready. Yeeee!

Let me tell you that I started from really basic skills and with the help of this YouTube tutorial I made my pretty mittens :D I'm so so proud! I didn't use the measurements in the video, I kept working, trying out, undoing till it fit!

I used:
Medium weight wool
Crochet hook no. 2
Yolanda's Soto-Lopez YouTube tutorial

DIY Knot Necklace

I know I might be a bit late on this topic. I made this necklace in Spring and wear it all Summer long. It was a very simple and quick thing to do but of a big impact. With no shame I must say it gather quite some compliments :)

You need:
40 cm curtain tieback coard
round crimp with lobster connector
hot glue gun or super glue

I used the Cloud Knot video below from TIAT. Check also his amazing YouTube collection of all the imaginable and unimaginable types of knots and coards, for sure you'll find something on your taste.

Let me know if you liked this or you found this information useful.

Thanks

Endless source of inspiration

Design*Sponge is more than a website is a platform dedicated to interior and product design, home cooking and DIY projects. They also feature designers, artists and everyone who has something interesting, creative, out of ordinary to show. They have a huge success with over 250000 daily pageviews not to mention the RSS subscribers and Twitter followers and they are definitely one of the trendsetters in home decoration and design online community.
My favourite sections are: sneak-peeks where you can see absolutely fabulous homes or working spaces of real people, DIY projects and the most fun before&after.

I want to keep this idea on mind: how you can transform white cold tones into milder ones with...black tea! I want to use this for big size passe-partout as suggested in the article! Quite handy, no?!

New challenges

Instagram
Actually the message I posted yesterday was for myself. I am going through a challenging period right now but I am hoping things will get better soon! I just needed some encouraging/ inspiration.  I was like a battle cry, because I will overcome this, I will fight!

I am not capable to share my worries here but I will share I my fight! It isn't as dramatic as it might sound but for sure it will not be easy for me. To cut the long story short, I am engaging in a weekly DIY project. The internet is nowadays an unlimited source of inspiration, so there is no excuse for me. I will collect cool ideas on my Pinterest board and also post my own creations. I have to do something new every week: take pictures, build a collection, post details about process, costs...

Oh, I wanted to do this for such a long time...
